Level 2 – Intermediate Emergency First Aid Responder

Construction workers, warehouse staff, hospitality teams, medium-risk workplaces

Course Description:

Designed for those working in environments where injuries are more likely, this course builds on Level 1 with intermediate trauma care. Participants learn to manage spinal injuries, immobilize fractures, administer oxygen therapy, and provide extended care until professional help arrives. A must-have for teams exposed to moderate workplace hazards.

Course Duration: 3 days

Level 3 – Advanced Emergency First Aid Responder

NQF Level 4

Who is this course for?

Emergency responders, healthcare workers, mining and remote site personnel

Course Description:

This advanced course prepares participants to handle complex, life-threatening emergencies in high-risk settings. Training includes cardiac arrest response, AED use, diabetic and allergic emergencies, respiratory distress, triage, and disaster coordination. Ideal for professionals who need to lead in critical situations and support large-scale incidents.

Course Duration: 5 days

First Aid Level 1:

Specific Outcomes

- Demonstrate an understanding of elementary anatomy and physiology

- Assess an emergency situation

- Apply first aid procedures to the life-threatening situation

- Treat common injuries

Course Content and Modules

- Introduction, principles of first aid, legal aspects and scene safety.  

- Positioning and elementary anatomy and physiology.

- Scene survey and casualty assessment.  

- Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and choking.  

- Shock and fainting. 

- Bleeding, wounds and burns.  

- Fractures, sprains and strains.  

- Head, spinal, chest and abdominal injuries.  

- Environmental emergencies, bites, stings and poisoning.  

- Medical emergencies.  

- Triage and record keeping.

- Demonstrate an understanding of elementary anatomy and physiology

- Assess an emergency situation

- Apply first aid procedures to the life-threatening situation

- Treat common injuries

Assisting with triage and disaster incident functions, such as prioritizing injured patients into various categories such as:

Red – serious and needs immediate help,

Yellow – severe injuries but can still wait for the serious to be treated first,

Green – walking wounded and will be ok,

Black – so serious that they should be left or are already deceased.

The course is intended for high-risk factory, industry, or mining H&S team members, or any delegate who requires first aid training at an advanced level.
